 บริกร : ยินดีต้อนรับสู่ร้านอาหารสยามครับ กี่ท่านครับ
(Bo-ri-kon : Yin-di ton-rap su ran a-han sa-yam khrap. Ki than khrap.)
Waiter : Welcome to Siam Restaurant. How many seats?
เจมส์ : โต๊ะสำหรับหนึ่งท่านครับ
(To sam-rap nueng than khrap.)
James : A table for one please.
บริกร : โต๊ะสำหรับหนึ่งท่านใช่ไหมครับ ตามผมมาเลยครับ เชิญทางนี้ครับ คุณต้องการจะสั่งอะไรครับ ต้องการเมนูหรือเปล่าครับ
(To sam-rap nueng than chai-mai khrap. Tam phom ma loei khrap. Choen thang ni khrap. Khun tong-kan cha sang a-rai khrap. Tong-kan me-nu rue plao khrap.)
Waiter : A table for one? Follow me, please, over here. What would you like, sir? Do you want a menu?
เจมส์ : ผมสั่งส้มตำครับ
(Phom sang som-tam khrap.)
James : I’d like to have Somtam.
บริกร : คุณจะรับเครื่องดื่มอะไรดีครับ
(Khun cha rap khrueang-duem a-rai di khrap.)
Waiter : What would you like to drink?
เจมส์ : น้ำส้มละกันครับ
(Nam som la kan khrap.)
James : I'd like an orange juice.
บริกร : แค่นั้นใช่ไหมครับ
(Khae nan chai mai khrap.)
Waiter : Will that be all?
เจมส์ : ใช่ครับ แค่นั้นครับ ขอบคุณครับ
(Chai khrap. Khae nan khrap. Khop khun khrap.)
James : Yes, that's it. Thank you.

Thai Alphabet : The Secret of MAI HAN A-KAT.

You've learnt about " สระ อะ " in this lesson . Today I will teach you about... THE SECRET OF MAI HAN A-KAT !!!!!! What is it? You're going to know it now. If you want to make a word like "chan (I)", or "wan (day). You have to use the other kind of "สระ อะ (Sara a)". Let's see an example. กะ (This is " Ka ".)  กัก (This is " Kak ".) ตะ (This is " Ta ".)  ตัก (This is " Tak ".) Did you see anything? The name of "◌ั" is Mai han a-kat . It looks like a half "ะ". You have to write Mai han a-kat above the consonant. Thai system is not like English. In English when you want to add a final consonant, you can place it next to a vowel. But in Thai, you have to change the shape of the vowel. Because in Thai we don't have a space between word. So if we don't use "Mai han a-kat", it is so hard to read. For example..... "ตาตะกกะบข้าว
